Communications team member for the governing New Patriotic Party, Richard Asante has asserted that no individual or group has the power to rig elections in Ghana.
Contrary to the opposition NDC’s claim that there are plans to rig the 2020 general elections for the ruling party, Mr. Asante believes otherwise.
Speaking on Accra based Metro TV, he urged the NDC to be bold to accept their impending defeat in the upcoming elections and not blame it on the EC or NIA.
The NDC in a series of press conference has accused the National Identification Authority and the Electoral Commission for conniving to rig the elections for President Akufo Addo.
They make the claim that, the decision by the EC to make the Ghana card and Ghana passport the only prerequisite requirement for registration onto the new voters register is an indication of their allegations.
The party has warned the EC to rescind on it decision and ensure that the voters ID card is added to the primary document for registering, else, they will deplore all legitimate means to stop the EC from going ahead with the registration.
