National Democratic Congress (NDC) member of parliament for Juaboso Constituency in the Western Region, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh says he’s confident the NDC will win the upcoming general elections with or without a new voter register.
According to him, winning the 2020 elections is a done deal for the opposition. He noted that the many but failed promises of the Akufo Addo government is the panacea for their victory in December.
The Electoral Commission has said that it has no plans of backing down on its decision to compile a new voter’s register to be used for the upcoming elections despite the novel covid-19 scare.
Speaking on Accra based Power Fm, monitored by Newsgogh.com, the ranking member of parliament’s health committee said the NDC is pious to deliver victory for the good people of Ghana.
“I say it here and now, the NDC will win the 2020 elections, with or without a new voter’s register, we are winning and nothing more” he said.
Meanwhile the NDC through its national chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has accused the EC and the National Identification Authority (NIA) to conniving to rig the elections in favour of the incumbent.
“While we continue to rally round the Ghana flag to support government in this difficult time, it does appear that the Jean Mensah led EC ably supported by the Ken Attafuah led NIA are only interested in rigging the 2020 general elections for President Akufo Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party through voter suppression in NDC stronghold” he said at a press conference on Thursday.
