Father and former coach of Ghanaian boxing champ, Isaac Dogboe, Paul Dogboe has attributed his son’s two times defeat to Mexican boxer Emmanuel Naverrete to some spiritual misalignment.
According to Mr. Dogboe, he engaged in some spiritual activities which he should have not and therefore believes that the consequences of his actions was what led to his son’s defeat.
Emmanuel Naverrete defeated Isaac Dogboe twice in a year, losing his super bantamweight title to the young Mexican.
Coach Paul Dogboe threw in the towel to bring the fight to an abrupt end after Isaac failed to step up his game in round 12 during the rematch.
Dogboe (20-2, 14KOs) was badly rocked in rounds two and three, the brunt of the damage produced by Navarrete’s long right hands. The difference in activity was far more evident as Dogboe’s efforts to deflect the incoming disappeared the moment he was forced to retreat.
However, speaking in an interview on Monday on Accra based Metro TV, Paul Dogboe said the renovation of his clans royal palace which is surrounded or ruled by some fetish powers were the main cause of his son’s defeat.
He said he ought not to do that, knowing very well that he is a Christian and therefore his interference with things that have to do with smaller gods and trying to revive them came as a defeat to his son.
Paul is certain that, if not for his involvement with things of that nature, probably Isaac would have retain his title as the super bantamweight champion till now.
