The premier league returns this weekend with Norwich and Leicester starting this round of fixtures on Friday night. Liverpool are four wins away from the title and could cut it to three with a win as Chelsea aim to hold on for the fourth spot. Enock Sakyi predicts how this round of fixtures will turn out.
Norwich vs Leicester
I believe in miracles but not this time. I think Norwich are gone. They had their moments at some point this season but failed to be consistent. They are far from their fellow relegation strugglers. Manchester City are not playing league football this weekend so Leicester have a chance to close the gap and put pressure on them. Leicester themselves have struggled recently but they did all the job early so now is about not losing too many games. They will need Vardy to start scoring again.
Norwich 1-3 Leicester City
Brighton vs Crystal Palace
Brighton were good at Sheffield last week and it was a massive one point for them. When you find yourself not too far from the relegation battle, that’s what you need to do;keep adding points. They are a good side. They will stay safe. The result against Newcastle last weekend for Crystal Palace was huge. Crystal Palace are on a decline and results like that can only give them confidence.
Brighton 2-2 Crystal Palace
Bournemouth vs Chelsea
I’m worried about Bournemouth. They have turned into a bad team too quickly. Half of the players are out of form.At the moment, there is nothing positive about them. Chelsea pulled further again. That’s all they need to keep doing. Keep winning points and stay out of reach. This season,is their home form that has let them down. I will go for another Chelsea win here.
Bournemouth 0-3 Chelsea
Newcastle vs Burnley
Two teams with different fortunes. Newcastle have a talented squad but is about how they play as a team and get positive results. They have had some amazing results this season but failed to build on them. When i look at their position, i get a little bit scared but they will be fine. Burnley were brilliant again. Three goals at home and clean sheet is what you need at this stage of the season. Burnley haven’t been consistent too, that’s why I will give Newcastle a chance here.
Newcastle 2-1 Burnley
West Ham vs Southampton
West Ham are in a big trouble! They don’t even know how to deal with it at the moment. Their reaction to this difficult spell has been horrible. They play without confidence and already look like a championship team. Southampton were good against Villa last week. They will come into this game full of confidence as West Ham are scared to play at the moment.
West Ham 1-2 Southampton
Watford vs Liverpool
Watford wouldn’t want to play Liverpool now as they need points badly. I think Nigel Pearson has done well but is just not enough. I have this feeling Watford will survive looking at their remaining fixtures. Liverpool are in need four wins now and so every game now will be huge for them. They have been the best team from day one and deserve the trophy. Is amazing to play these lots of matches in the EPL and not lose one yet in this era. I don’t think they will be the new “invincible” though
Watford 0-4 Liverpool
Everton vs Manchester United
This is a huge game for both teams. Everton are looking to get back in the top half again and keep their European hopes alive. I like what Ancelloti has done at Everton very much. The return of Andre Gomes is a huge boost. Manchester United are on a good run. I think i like Bruno Fernades. He is now the star of the team as everything is worked through him on the field. I fancy Everton at home.
Everton 3-2 Manchester United
Tottenham vs Wolves
What a game this is! Tottenham are currently struggling because of the many injuries that they have now. The effect of kane and Son’s absence is seen all over. They are weak upfront and don’t have goals now. Wolves are doing very well. This is the second time this season they are pushing to play in Europe. Most of their players are refreshed because of the rest they had on Thursday. I fancy them.
Tottenham 1-3 Wolves
- Due to Aston Villa and Manchester City’s involvement in the league cup final on Sunday, their games against Sheffield United and Arsenal (respectively) have been postponed.
